FAREWELL CP, JL and WILMA (part A)
Hey guys! If you have been wondering who were the "genius" people who thought and bought the gifts last Saturday, well you don't have to wonder anymore. The genius people are Su Ting! Bear! Bear again?! Esther! Guess who we saw in Ikea??? VIVIAN! (vivian=blur=sotong but still pretty, yeah?) Su Ting and Bear choosing the gifts for Choon Pheng, Jiang Ling and Wilma. Pretty Bear trying to uhmm..be Bear..or trying to measure the size ? or we just can't get enough of taking photos in toilets? So we transformed the mats into works of art worthy of being hung on museum walls. LOL. Or bedroom walls. Or bathroom floors. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!i feel like crying. lol. Anyway--these people(sobs), these people have made a huge difference-a great impact on each of us and i believe on the cg as a whole. As they move out and new people come in, you guys are still a part of us, a family. We will always be a family. E462 WILL ALWAYS BE A HAPPY FAMILY. Choon Pheng, Jiang Ling and Wilma--we will miss you! Labels: bear, esther, farewell, gifts, ikea, suting

Part 3 - Article from Rev. Mark Conner's Blog
A Personal Check Up (Pt.3)Our second question is: 2. How is your passion? Having a clear vision is important (seeing it) but having a passion or fire on the inside is also vital (feeling it). God desires that vision and passion be bound together in our lives. Is your vision producing passion or has it lost its vitality? If its energy has died a little, meditate on it some more, ask the ‘why’ question again (not just ‘what, when and how’), etc. In the world we live in, natural fervency or passion is often a key to success and impact. A study of great people was done looking for essential qualities of their success. It wasn't intelligence, gifts or talents, background or appearance. It was attitude (how they chose to think) and passion (how they chose to feel). Successful people have drive and enthusiasm (found in the heart not the head). Nothing major in history was ever accomplished without zeal and passion. It is often THE deciding difference between successful and unsuccessful people in every field of endeavour. The fire on the inside affects everything on the outside. Inspirational writer William Ward says, "Enthusiasm and persistence can make an average person superior while indifference and lethargy can make a superior person average." The Apostle Paul puts it this way: "Never be lacking in zeal but keep your spiritual fervour, serving the Lord." Paul assumes that we are all serving the Lord. Every one of us has a part to play in contributing to God’s cause in the earth. Yes, serving the Lord and fulfilling your purpose is a good thing. But how we serve and pursue our God-given purpose is very important. It requires fervency! Of course, passion is not a static thing. It’s like a fire that we have to fuel and guard at all times. We have to be on guard against fire-fighters such as complacency, difficult circumstances, familiarity, or an unbalanced lifestyle. How is your passion? Is it burning brightly or has it died out a bit? What can you do to rekindle it today? Jon

Are You Giving Enough Time To Yourself? How About Quality Time With Your Loved Ones?
Dear Friend, Most of us are busier than ever. Our lives are full of things to do, places to go, people to meet. All of these in the name of "getting ahead". But there comes a time when we need to question "is this really success"? Ask most people what they're looking for, and chances are you'll hear things like: "inner peace, balance, a chance to relax, and an opportunity to smell the roses". In short, the opposite to the hectic lifestyle that most people seem to be living in right now. As author Stuart Wilde puts it, "life was never meant to be a struggle". We need to form a new definition for success, one that includes more balance, more time to be with those we love, more time for play, and more time to nurture ourselves. The paradox is that the reason most of us work long and hard is so we can relax, play, and have more time for our loved ones. Yet the more time we spend working, the less time we have to enjoy the other aspects of our lives. Certainly finances and your career are important, but not at the expense of your health, your inner peace, your family and enjoying your life. It takes courage to let go of our old struggle habits and create ways to leverage ourselves and delegate many of our tasks. It takes courage to re-examine our values and make our "self", our loved ones and our careers equal priorities. It takes courage to take more time for yourself and maintain true equilibrium in your life. By T. Harv Eker

WHAT IS A CELLGROUP?
A cellgroup is a family. In E462, we have a mom..called SuTing. Or you can call her Mommy SuTing. lol. She bakes cupcakes for us and makes sure we fulfill our study hours, eat good food and do our quiet time. Really like a mom. lol. There are a lot of us here brothers and sisters in Christ, building each other in the faith. Wait, if u think about it, there really are brothers and sisters (by blood) in E462. LOL. Vivian and Jordan, Alexis and Justin, etc..more to come. As you can see here, we're celebrating Justin's bday!!!! See how motherly SuTing is (single, very much available but all must go through E462 standards..lol)! A family that prays, fasts, eats and plays animal games together, stays together!!!! :) And of course, a family will not be a family without good food. So, if u guys are hungry and thirsty...lol..of course---hungry and thirsty for God, be a part of our HAPPY HAPPY FAMILY! Thanks to Wilma for our spaghetti, Mommy Suting for our cupcakes, Alfred for the drinks, and Maria for the chips, Kim for the newspaper and utensils. Labels: birthday, cg, happy family, Justin

Humility
Humility knows we need God. Say, 'I need You God.' Humility knows we need others. Say, 'I need other people.' Humility recognises now great we are not. Say, 'Lord, You've done it all.' Humility admits our own shortcomings and congratulates others on their successes. Humility serves others we consider our equal or less.Humility waits patiently. Say, 'I am patient.' Humility restrains anger. Say, 'I forgive everyone who has ever offended me.' Humility is not announcing our own achievements. Humility prefers others. Humility is not something that is given to us. Humility is something we do to ourselves. Labels: articles

God's best students!
To all the dearest E462 students out there, just want to say well done to the increasing study hours! Well done! Keep it up! Very proud of everyone~ =) During this exams period, lets continue to develop love for our books.. Hee~ Discipline. We can ace our papers! Yes i know some of us have made a covenant with our books for at least the next 2 months to be their best friend. Sometimes it might not be so interesting to fellowship with the mute friends who only stares back at you after long hours of stroking the pages. Hopefully the below helps you to refresh you while you hit the books! Jia you! 1. I don't know does not equal I'm stupid. Seek answers to your questions. 2. No idea are bad ideas. Don't limit yourself but ask why not. 3. Focus. Don't be distracted by other activities. 4. Give yourself credit. Reward yourself. 5. Don't let time manage you. Don't leave studying to the last min. 6. Pay attention. It makes grasping of concepts and revision easier. 7. Take a five min time out to recharge for every hour of studying. 8. Sleep well especially before exams. Rest your mind and body.9. Sum up what you've learnt and say it in your own words. Have your own learning style.10. Stretch yourself after long hours of studying. Get that blood flowing to help in concentration and recall. 11. Make your learning and studying fun... Study with friends and add colour to your notes. Oh yes! Finally I can declared freedom from projects and tests.. at least for the next two months! I just concluded my last marathon project. I penned down the last full stop minutes ago. A sign of relieve! It has been a long long day. Since 1145am until now, my eyes have been glued to the notebook screen. So many ocassions I just like taking it out and replacing it with a fresh new pair. haha! I just wanna thank God that for the past few weeks, its not only the dreaded projects that see me through but also sweet thoughts and words. The surprise bean curd treat, the expected gift of chicken essence, the constant encouragement over MSN, the solid literature findings dug out for me, the smses that spelled Jia you... the prayers... those kept me going! Thank you all! I got a HD (High Distinction) for my test! I am over the moon! Alright, up next to conquer.. exams! Study smart! We are God's best students! ting (oei!) Labels: books, study

MINI-OLYMPICS
Due to Marcus' insistent demand, these photos have been uploaded. LOL. Well, guys it had been a fun - no, SMASHING SATURDAY for all of us. We met up, had cg and geared up for what would be the most SPORTY event ever of 2008 - even more sporty than the 2008 Olympics, i dare say. Yes, it's the most sporty... 'coz though i didn't even watch Michael Phelps grab his 8 medals, i actually participated right here in our very own Minilympics. And that makes me consider it the most sporty event ever. I give the honor of having the 1st photo of the even to none other than..Marcus! Mainly because he was the 1 who asked for the photos. LOL! We were grouped into different teams doing different events. So we went out to this muddy field where we were supposed to play captain's ball and soccer. It was fun..and well, muddy. Here is Jon. I don't even know what he's doing here. ADD A CAPTION PLEASE. :) Judee..apparently happy 'coz her shoes haven't gone 2 inches deep into the mud yet as some of us have experienced. N391. It was hot. It was muddy. And we were all sweating like crazy but we all wanted to enjoy ourselves. A 1.5L bottle of water per person was not enough, really. See Alexis in the background? Haha.
Here's Maria, Kim and Alexis. Still clean 'coz they haven't played soccer or captain's ball yet. Or maybe it's 'coz we didn't take a full body shot. "What?!" Here is Jon again. LOL. This is the first time i've seen Jon in shorts. I can't believe that he has even smaller thighs than me. LOL. Want some mud? Check out how muddy that field/place/whatever was. We got smoother skin on our legs and feet! No sweat. LOL. We're happy coz we won! I'm happy coz i scored a goal in soccer. For once in my life. Haha.
Next up, we had the vertical marathon where we had to climb 21 storeys as a team. I was up against Marcus in running floors 6-11. I beat him coz i held onto the railing while climbing up. Was that fair? I don't know. LOL. He took larger steps than me anyway. Here's Ivan Lee. As you can see he's not muddy. He's not sweating and he's not unglam. Unlike the rest of us. Haha. Bronson's team! Peter's team! Alexis in action! After the vertical Marathon, we had the sort-of weight lifting race. We had to carry a pail of water. Shoot a piece of newspaper into a container. How far the container you shoot in will determine the points. Then, you had to carry the pail again without spilling any water. Aswin's team! Shaun's team! SEXY, DIRTY BACK! Here we were in dog and bone which was the best part for me coz it was the easiest!
